Renewing Items from a Patron's Record

To renew items using the Checked-Out Items tab, you must be assigned permission 94 (View patron record in check-out). For more information, see Permissions Used By Sierra.

If your library set the Authorization required to view checked out items for patron Circulation Option to "YES," you must be assigned permission 167 (View items checked out to patron) to see all the items checked out to a patron. If this Circulation Option is set to "YES" and you are not assigned permission 167, you will only be able to renew overdue items.

This page describes renewing standard circulation items. If you want to renew an INN-Reach item, see Renewing an INN-Reach Item from the Patron Site.

Renewing Multiple Items from a Patron's Record

Sierra enables you to renew either a single item or multiple items at a time. When you renew multiple items, the system tries to renew each item you selected in the order that it appears in the table. If Sierra prompts you to provide authorization or make a decision for an item, it highlights that item's row.
