How Sierra Updates Records Upon Renewal
After you have successfully renewed an item, the system makes the following changes to the patron and item records:
- Writes the new due date calculated for the renewal to the item's DUE DATE field.
- Increments the # RENEWALS field in the item record and the TOT RENEW fields in the patron and item records.
- Sets the item record's OUT LOC value to the statistics group associated with the login used to renew the item.
- Updates the LOANRULE field, if the Renewals: Check loanrule at time of renewal circulation option is set to "YES" and a new loan rule was computed during the renewal.
- Writes today's date to the CIRCACTIVE field in the patron record.
