Using the Patron Features and Functions of Express Lane

To use Express Lane, patrons:

1. Start a new session. Express Lane displays the following information during a session:
   • Name of the patron using the Express Lane station
   • Items checked out so far during the current session
   • Number of total items checked out
   • Number of items overdue (if any)
   • Number of items on hold
   • Number of held items ready for pickup (if any)
   • Current amount owed in fines
2. Check out items.
3. View certain types of account information, if enabled at your library. By default, Express Lane gives patrons the option to view the following information:
   • Title and due date of each item currently checked out (including overdue items)
   • Title and status of each item on hold
   • Title and amount owed for each item for which a fine has accrued
   • List of other types of charges accrued (for example, for a Collection Agency Report) and amount owed for each
4. Make the following types of modifications, if enabled:
   • renew items
   • cancel holds
   • pay fines and charges (Comprise Ecommerce For Express Lane)
5. End the session.
