Using RFID Technology with Item Status API

If your library has acquired the Item Status API product, library staff can use RFID technology to check in, check out, and renew items, and patrons can use RFID technology to check out items using Express Lane (as well as renew items if patrons have the items with them). You can use Item Status API with either or both products: you are not required to use Item Status API at both circulation and Express Lane stations if you want to use RFID technology with only one of these.

If your library is part of an INN-Reach system and more than one member library uses Item Status API, you can contact Innovative to enable the RFID Checkin and Checkout of INN-Reach Items feature. This feature allows libraries to use RFID technology to do the following:

receive an INN-Reach item from its owning site
check the item out to the requesting patron
renew the item
check the item in from the patron
