Text of Circulation Notices Table
The Text of Circulation Notices table contains the text of messages that appear on circulation notices and ILL notifications.
You can access the Text of Circulation Notices table via the following menu path:

Because the system identifies entries in the Text of Circulation Notices table by their numeric position in the table, the Delete, Insert, and Move tools are unavailable when editing this table.

Functionality Information
When viewing and modifying the Text of Circulation Notices table, note the following:
- Maximum Number of Entries
- The Text of Circulation Notices table can contain a maximum of 512 entries.
- Selecting Entries for Circulation Notices and ILL Notifications
- See Notices, Slips, and Messages and Creating Predefined Texts for ILL Notifications for information about how the system selects an entry to apply to each notice type and how the entry is positioned on the notice.
- Positioning Entries on Circulation Notices
- You must ensure that the length of your messages fits within the space your library allocated on the notices. For more information, see Formatting Options for Default Notices.
- Entries Can Be Used on Multiple Notices
- One entry in this table can be used by any number of notices. For example, you can use the same text in the overdue notices in many loan rules.
Data Elements
Entries in the Text of Circulation Notices table contain the following data elements:

Editable By | The authorization level required to edit the field. This element displays only if your library has enabled edit protection of circulation parameters. | ||||||||
Notice Type | A brief descriptive name (up to 20 characters) that identifies the purpose of the text (for example, First Overdue Notice). At multilingual sites, the system repeats this element for each language enabled on your system. Some Notice Type entries must contain specific words and phrases to be used for certain types of notices. Reserved words and phrases must be in lowercase. At multilingual sites, they must appear in the English-language Notice Text element. The reserved words or phrases are as follows:

Notice Text | The message to be printed on the notice. The maximum number of lines (up to 15) and maximum number of characters per line (up to 76) is specified by your library in the Notices: Where to print Message circulation option. At multilingual sites, the system repeats this element for each language enabled on your system. If your library has enabled preferred patron languages, the system can generate notices in the preferred language of the patron. |
