Using Patron Verification in WebPAC
Your organization can restrict request privileges to registered patrons. Patrons can be verified by using:
- the Innovative server and local patron records
- a Lightweight Directory Access Protocol server (often called an LDAP server)
- Innovative's Integrated Login feature
- Innovative's Single Sign-On (SSO) product
- SAML-based patron authentication
You must use patron verification when:
- processing patron requests automatically
- allowing patrons or the system to choose items for request
- limiting request by patron type or PCODE
- charging patrons for requests
- allowing patrons to self-book items
- participating in INN-Reach requesting
If your library uses My Account, you can set the NO_REVERIFY Web option so a successful My Account login serves as validation against the WebPAC functions listed in the NO_REVERIFY setting. For more information, see the NO_REVERIFY Web option.
You can optionally set your system to log a patron into a My Account session upon successful validation. For more information, see the description of the MY_WEBPAC Web option.
To use patron verification with Media Management, enter a value other than 000 in the Publisher Code field when adding a new media set.
