Adding New Media Sets

Use the following steps to add a new media set to a bibliographic record.

  1. Retrieve a bibliographic record.
  2. Choose Go | Media.
  3. In the Media Manager window, click on the Media Manager folder. The Add Media Set button will appear in the Display panel.
  4. Choose Add Media Set. A folder representing the new media set will display in the Media Manager window and the following data fields for Media Set Description appear in the Display panel:

TitleThe title of the media set. This displays in the WebPAC as the link you select to access the media file(s) in the media set. If your library has acquired thumbnails, the title displays below the thumbnail image.
Use Image Viewer        To insert multiple image files into a media set, click the check box. If a media set contains two or more image files that are loaded simultaneously, the system selects this option automatically.

  5. If your library has acquired Copyright and Access, the Media Manager window includes fields for you to manage your electronic course reserves. For more information, see Entering Copyright and Access Information.
  6. Enter the desired title and Media Set Description data.
  7. Add media files to the media set by importing files, scanning images, importing a URL or linking to a URL.

Saving Media Sets that Contain no Media Files

You must add at least one media file to the media set before you can save the bibliographic record. If you try to save the record with an empty media set attached, Media Management will prompt There are one or more media sets with no attached media. Invalid sets will be removed.
