Allow Patrons to Self Book Items
Your organization can allow patrons to "self book" materials when placing requests.
For details on Self Booking in WebPAC, see Using Self Booking.
Notes on Self Booking in the WebPAC
- A patron may be able to self-book a title in Course Reserves but may not be able to self-book the same title in the WebPAC.; Self booking can be offered in the WebPAC and course reserves. If self-booking is available only in course reserves at your library, items will not be available for booking in the WebPAC. Contact Innovative if you want to change which functions offer self booking. You can edit the list of programs that offer self-booking as well as the self-booking rules and limits with Advanced System Access & Administration. See Rules for Self Booking for more information.
- A patron may be able to self-book a title from the WebPAC but may not be able to place a request on the same title;. In cases in which the system calculates the loan rule before recording the request (e.g., item-level holds), the loan rule may allow bookings but not holds. The Bookable element of the loan rule controls whether patrons can book an item while the Holdable element controls the ability to place holds. If the loan rule does not allow holds but does allow bookings, the patron has the option to book the item.
