ArticleReach Borrowing and Lending Reports

Statistical information on ArticleReach requests is retained, by default, for a period of 18 months. This time period can be configured for your ArticleReach System. To change the length of time that statistics are retained, Central System Administrators should contact Innovative.

The ArticleReach Borrowing and Lending report can calculate borrowing and lending statistics for ArticleReach requests within two specified date ranges. This feature enables you to compare statistics in two time periods (for example, the previous month with the year-to-date). For information about creating this report, see Creating an ArticleReach Borrowing and Lending Report.

Note that requests placed on the current day (that is, placed at any time after 12:00 a.m. of the day on which you are generating the report) are not included in the report.

Borrowing Statistics

The system calculates Borrowing statistics for the following categories of requests:

Requests Initiated
The number of new requests initiated by your site's patrons during the specified date range.
Requests Filled
The number of your patrons' requests that were filled during the specified date range. The system considers a request filled when the requesting site has received the article and checked it in, with the exception of requests filled with a LOCAL supply method. Requests filled with a LOCAL supply method are considered filled when processed at the supplying site.
Requests Cancelled
The number of requests that your patrons cancelled from the ArticleReach request display in the WebPAC during the specified date range.
Requests Unfilled
The number of requests belonging to your site's patrons that were cancelled by library staff or the system during the specified date range.
Requests Sent to ILL
The number of requests belonging to your site's patrons and forwarded to your ILL department by either staff or the system during the specified date range. This line of statistics displays only if your site has acquired the Pass2ILL for ArticleReach feature.
Requests Turnaround Time
The average number of hours between when a request was made and when it was filled for Requests Filled during the specified date range.
Fill Rate
Requests Filled divided by Requests Initiated, as a percentage.

Lending Statistics

The system calculates Lending statistics for the following categories of requests:

Requests Received
The number of requests paged at your site during the specified time period.
Requests Filled
The number of requests filled at your site during the specified time period. The system considers a request filled when the requesting site has received the article and checked it in, with the exception of requests filled with a LOCAL supply method. Requests filled with a LOCAL supply method are considered filled when processed at the supplying site.
Requests Unfilled

The number of requests during the specified time period that:

  • Your site passed to the next potential lender.

  • The system automatically forwarded to the next potential lender, because the request was paged at your site longer than the maximum length of time a request can remain at a paged location.

Note that if your site was the last potential lender in the paging list for a passed or forwarded request, the system counts the request as unfilled depending on the requesting site's settings for managing unfillable requests. If the requesting site manages unfillable requests via system cancellation or the Pass2ILL for ArticleReach feature, the system counts the request as unfilled, because its status is considered final (for example, CANCELLED or TO ILL). If the requesting site manages unfillable requests via the ArticleReach Mediation feature, the system does not count the request as unfilled, because its status of IN MEDIATION is not considered final.

Lending Turnaround Time
The average number of hours between when a request was paged at your site and when staff at your site acted on the request (by filling, cancelling, or passing it), during the specified date range.
Fill Rate
Requests Filled divided by Requests Received, as a percentage.
