Checking In Items - Patron Present

To check in an item with the patron present:

  1. Choose Circulation Desk from the Function list.
  2. Select the Check In tab.
  3. (optional) Backdate the checkin session.
  4. (optional) Select the Print receipt checkbox if the patron wants a checkin receipt.

    To set the default for printing checkin receipts (for example, to retain the selection of the Print receipt checkbox from session to session), set the Print receipts for checked-in items Printing option.

No Receipt for Visiting Patron Checkins

If an item was checked out to the patron via the INN-Reach visiting patron feature, the system does not print a receipt for it when you check it in.

  1. Retrieve the item record.
  2. See Checking In Items that have Special Conditions for the messages and situations that may occur when you check in an item.

While the patron's record is displayed, you can change to another tab to check out items to the patron or to place holds.

Collecting Fines for Multiple Patrons

By default, if you check in an item for another patron, any fines accumulated by the previous patron are cleared from the Total box. However, if the Collect money for multiple patrons Setup option is enabled for your login, the system continues to display the fines accumulated by previous patrons. This allows you to collect fines for multiple patrons. If you want to clear the Total box before you scan an item, choose the Close icon.
