Pickup Anywhere Rule Selection Table
The Pickup Anywhere Rule Selection Table on the INN-Reach Central Server specifies the circumstances under which a particular loan rule is applied when a Pickup Anywhere item is requested.
Your Central System Administrator can create loan rules specifically for use with Pickup Anywhere transactions. The system uses these Pickup Anywhere loan rules to determine the DUE DATE it should assign to a Pickup Anywhere item when that item is loaned to the remote site. All other aspects of the loan (for example, whether the item is renewable, which notices to generate) are determined by the loan rule stored in the virtual item. That loan rule is generated by the requesting patron's Local Server.
Central System Administrators maintain the Pickup Anywhere Rule Selection Table.
Data Elements
The format of the Pickup Anywhere Rule Selection Table is similar to the format of the Central Loan Rule Determiner Table, except the Pickup Anywhere Rule Selection Table does not contain an AGE RANGE element.
Each entry consists of four elements:
- LOCATION
- The site code. Specific site codes are usually included only for sites that are in testing and require different INN-Reach Circulation parameters. Typically, you will enter the ????? wildcard in this field, which represents all sites.
- PATRON TYPE
- The central patron type. A single central P TYPE is entered in this field. Each INN-Reach System will have different central P TYPE values. A given Local Server is not required to use every central P TYPE. For more information about central P TYPEs, see the Patron Type Mapping File.
- ITEM TYPE
- The central item type. Multiple central I TYPEs can be entered in this field in a list separated by commas. For more information about central I TYPEs, see the Item Type Mapping File.
- RULE NUMBER
- Number of the loan rule that the system should apply when a patron with the specified P TYPE checks out an item with the specified I TYPE that belongs to the specified LOCATION. Loan rule numbers are defined in the Central Loan Rules Table.
