Defining Locations and Item Types for ILL Requests

When setting up ILL, you must define the LOCATION and I TYPE values you want the system to use when creating ILL virtual items. The system uses these locations and item types to determine which loan rule to apply for the ILL request.

You can define a single LOCATION and a single I TYPE for all ILL requests, or you can set up unique LOCATION and/or I TYPE values for each request type. If your library uses multiple ILL departments, you can define unique LOCATION and/or I TYPE values for each department.

To define these values, add the LOCATION values to the Branches table and the I TYPE values to the Item Types table.

You must inform Innovative of the item types and locations you want to use for ILL. You can do so by filling out the ILL Department Parameters worksheet in the Getting Started Manual.
