Cancelling a Paged ArticleReach Request

When you cancel an ArticleReach request paged at your site, the system updates the request status to "CANCELLED" and sends an email notification message to the patron. Note that the system cancels the request even if there are other potential lenders in the paging list. For more information, see Cancelling an ArticleReach Request.

You can cancel a single paged request or multiple paged requests at the same time.

To cancel requests paged at your site:

  1. View the request(s) the Process Paged Requests screen.
  2. Select the row(s) of the request(s) you want to cancel.
  3. In the ACTION pane, choose the Cancel radio button.
  4. Choose the Process button. The system displays the Cancel Request dialog, which prompts you for a cancel reason.
  5. Continue as appropriate:
    • Select a cancel reason from the list of default reasons defined by your ArticleReach System.
    • Select and modify one of the default reasons.
    • Enter new text describing the reason for cancelling.
If you selected multiple requests, the system uses this cancel reason for all the requests you have selected.

The cancellation reason you specify is included in the email notification message to the patron and displays in the Pickup Location/Delivery Information field of the ArticleReach requests display in the View Your Patron Record feature in WebPAC.
  6. Choose OK. The Results dialog displays, which indicates the number of requests that have been processed.
  7. Choose OK to return to the Process Paged Requests screen.
