Editing a Staff Note in a Paged ArticleReach Request

If a request is paged at your site, you can edit the Staff Note field in the request's record without changing the status of the request. As long as the request's status remains "PAGED", you can edit this field repeatedly.

The text you enter in the Staff Note field is retained in the request record unless you manually remove it prior to processing the request. This field displays to staff viewing details for paged requests, mediated requests, or all requests. If the request is later managed by the Pass2ILL for ArticleReach product, the Staff Note text is included in the information forwarded to the ILL department. The Staff Note field does not display to patrons.

To edit the Staff Note field in a paged request:

  1. View the brief record of the paged request.
  2. Select the row of the request you want to edit.
  3. Choose the Edit icon. The system displays the Edit Staff Note dialog. If a staff note has been added to this request previously, the existing text displays in the text box.
  4. Enter new text or modify existing text as appropriate.
  5. Choose OK to continue. The system stores the staff note as you entered or modified it. The request status remains "PAGED".
