The following are described below:

Types of Booking Slips

There are three types of booking slips:

Delivery slips
Library staff will deliver the item to a specified location.
Patron pickup slips
The patron for whom the booking was placed will pick up the item.
Pickup slips
Library staff will pick up the item after the booking ends.

The type of slip that prints depends on the delivery option specified when placing the booking. When the library is responsible for picking up and delivering an item, Sierra prints two slips, one for delivery and one for pickup.

Booking Slip Format

All booking slips include a header that contains the following information:

Slip Type
Indicates whether the slip is a delivery slip, patron pickup slip, or pickup slip.
Delivery Location (delivery slips and pickup slips only)
The delivery location specified when placing the booking.

In addition, booking slips contain the following fields:

A TITLE variable-length field from the bibliographic record to which the booked item is attached. If the bibliographic record contains a 245 field, the system uses the 245 field to generate the title on booking slips. If there is no 245 field, the system uses the 240 field to generate the title. If there is neither a 245 nor a 240 field, the system uses the first TITLE field in the bibliographic record.
Call Number
The CALL # variable-length field from the booked item's record, or if absent, from the bibliographic record.
Barcode
The BARCODE variable-length field from the booked item's record.
