Pcode 3 Table

To edit the Pcode 3 table, you must be assigned permission 674 (Edit Pcode 3). If you are assigned permission 373 (View Circulation Parameters) but not 674, you can view this file but cannot edit it. See Permissions Used by Sierra for more information.

The Pcode 3 table contains descriptive labels for the PCODE3 fixed-length fields in patron records. You can use these categories in any way that is useful to your library; for example, they could be used to indicate a student's major or the academic department of a faculty member. The system uses these codes as categories in circulation reports.

The Pcode 3 table always contains exactly 256 entries, each of which is identified by its numeric position in the table, the Copy, Delete, Insert, and Move tools are unavailable when editing this table. To delete or insert an entry, select and edit the entry.

Entries in the Pcode 3 table contain a single data element:

Element	Description
Label	A descriptive name of up to 32 characters. At multi-lingual sites, the system repeats this element for each language enabled on your system.
