Sending Issues to the Bindery in Batch
This method of sending issues for binding allows you to search the database for bindable issues. See Determining Which Issues to Bind for information on how the system decides which issues are bindable.
As you find issues that are ready to be bound, you can print binding slips and make selections about binding.
To search for Issues to send to the bindery, do the following.
- Choose Binding from the Function list.
- Choose a method of searching for issues:
- Select the Range radio button to search a range of records.
- Select the Review radio button to search a review file.
- Select the Index radio button to search a database index.
- Choose Start to start searching. Sierra searches for records with issues to bind. When it finds issues to bind, the system displays the checkin card with the binding unit selected.
- (Optional) If you want to bind issues other than the ones highlighted in the checkin card by the system, select the desired boxes.
- After selecting the issues to bind, print the binding slip.
If you do not want to print a binding slip for the current issues, you can also:
- Choose Next to go to the next record.
- Choose Previous to go back to the previous record.
- Choose Stop to quit searching for issues to bind and to exit the current record. Sierra displays a dialog detailing the number of records scanned and found.
