Retrieving Authority Records

To view authority records in Cataloging you must be assigned permission 111 (View authority records). To view authority records in Serials, you must be assigned one of the following permissions:

  • 077 (Serials check-in)
  • 083 (Routing list maintenance)
  • 088 (Claim overdue issues)
  • 089 (Bind serials)
  • 111 (View authority records)
  • 112 (Create authority records)
  • 114 (Update authority records)

To retrieve an authority record:

  1. From the Function list, choose a function that retrieves authority records. See the table of Record Types Accessed by Searches.
  2. Search a selected index or subset of an index.
