Using Selection Lists
Selection lists are useful in multi-branch library systems that want branch input on the titles they are thinking of acquiring. Sierra offers the following selection lists functions:
Branch Functions
- Retrieve more information about a selection list title
- Request copies for a selection list title
- Track selection list expenses for requested copies
Acquisitions Department Functions
- Create selection lists
- Add titles to an existing selection list
- Change the temporary location to PENDING
- Order the copies requested

Web Works Selection Lists
In addition to the selection list functionality above, libraries can also acquire a web-based interface called Web Works Selection Lists. This product enables selectors to perform the branch functions described above using many of the same tools such as Multiselection Groups, WebBridge links, and so on. All selection list maintenance for Web Works Selection Lists is performed using Acquisitions functions, including creating the selection lists, setting the Preferred Locations and Funds, and ordering the requested copies.
