Index Labels Table

To edit the Index Labels table, you must be assigned permission 645 (Edit Index Labels). See Permissions Used by Sierra for more information.

The Index Labels table contains the names, in both singular and plural forms, that the WebPAC displays for each index.

You can access the Index Labels table via the following menu path:

Admin | Parameters | General | Index Labels

For information on modifying this table, see Maintaining System Parameter Tables.

Because the Index Labels table contains exactly one entry for each index defined on your system, the Append, Delete, Copy, Insert, and Move tools are unavailable when editing this table.

Entries in the Index Labels table contain the following data elements:

Element Description
Name The record type to which the index pertains. This element is protected from editing.
Index Tag The tag of the index. This element is protected from editing.
Label Singular form of the index name (maximum of 29 characters). WebPAC and Sierra use this value in drop-down index selections. At multi-lingual sites, the system repeats this element for each language enabled on your system.
Plural Plural form of the index name (maximum of 29 characters). WebPAC uses this value in search result table headers. At multi-lingual sites, the system repeats this element for each language enabled on your system.
Restarting Processes

If you edit the Index Labels Table outside of ASAA, you must restart WebPAC to show changes.
