The OPAC Menu Page

Command link:     /search
HTML document:  opacmenu.html

The OPAC Menu page is a customizable file (opacmenu.html). It usually offers search options for accessing the catalog. Your organization can use it to highlight different search options, such as searching by author or title, or include links to other WebPAC features or other servers.

Innovative's default OPAC Menu page is identical to the Main Menu page. The opacmenu.html file supports the same tokens as the mainmenu.html file as well as supporting the following tokens:

Token Description
<!--{logout}--> The system replaces this token with the value of the BUT_LOGOUT Web option.
<!--{return}--> The system replaces this token with a Return Home link on pages retrieved when searching the central machine's database in an INN-Reach consortium or when searching a remote, partnered machine's database. Clicking this link returns the user to the home Innovative server the user's search originated from. This link is controlled by the BUT_RETHOME Web option.
<!--{srchhist}--> The system replaces this token with a Search History drop-down menu, from which the user can select a previously entered search to repeat. See Repeating Previous Searches (Search History) for more information on this feature.
This token must appear between <form> and </form> HTML tags on the page.

Users logged-in to My Account are directed to the OPAC Menu page when they start new searches. This allows them to start over without being logged-out.

The OPAC Menu page usually contains /search command links to the indexes in your organization's database.

You can create separate OPAC Menu pages for each combination of language, scope, and patron type by using the following naming convention:

opacmenu_LANG_s#_p#.html

LANG The language code (spi for Spanish, frc for French, etc.).
s# The number of the scope (s1, s2, s3, etc.).
p# The patron type or PTYPE (p0 or p243, etc.).

You can use different OPAC Menu pages for staff and patrons can do so by specifying a staff P TYPE in the opacmenu.html filename. The naming pattern is opacmenu_p#.html, where # is the staff PTYPE.

For a current example of this form, see the appropriate example set in WebPAC Example Sets and Photoshop Files on CSDirect.
