Camera Options Table

To edit the Camera Options table, you must be assigned permission 35 (Set system options). See Permissions Used by Sierra for more information.

If your library has acquired the Internal Patron Images product, you can use the Camera Options table to define settings for each camera you want to use to take patron photographs. Each entry in the Camera Options table represents one network camera, which can be accessed by one or more circulation workstations.

You can access the Camera Options table via the following menu path:

Admin | Camera Options

For information on modifying this table, see Setting Camera Options.

Entries in the Camera Options table contain the following data elements:

Element Description
Camera Name A descriptive name for the camera (for example, East Branch Camera).
Hardware Address The camera's MAC address (physical address). Both the MAC address and model number should be located on the camera. Note that the MAC address must consist of six colon-delimited pairs (e.g., 04:40:8C:22:30:86).
IP Address The camera's IP address (for example, 123.45.78.91).
Station Count The total number of logins or workstations (specified in the Station Type and Station elements) that can use the camera. The system automatically updates this option when you add or remove stations for a particular camera.
URL Parameters If you have purchased an Axis network camera, this element must be set to axis-cgi/jpg/image.cgi. If you have purchased another camera model, consult your camera's documentation for information about the URL parameters; Innovative cannot advise you on what to enter for cameras other than the recommended Axis models. The URL must not begin with a slash or backslash and cannot exceed 22 characters in length.

Each entry in the Camera Options contains a table that lists the stations that can use the camera. This table contains the following data elements:

Element Description
Station Type Specifies how to determine whether to allow access to the camera. A value of LOGIN indicates that all stations using a particular login can use the camera. A value of IP indicates that only the station with the specified IP address can use the camera.
Station The login or IP address that can access the camera. You can specify one or more stations per camera.
