Setting Camera Options

You must be assigned permission 35 (Set system options) to set Camera Options.

If your library has acquired the Internal Patron Images product, you must configure your system's camera options before you can take patron photographs. To set up your camera options, add an entry to the Camera Options table for each camera you have purchased. You can also edit or delete cameras from the Camera Options table.

Adding a Camera

To add and enable user access to a camera:

  1. Select Admin | Camera Options to access the camera options function.
  2. Choose Add.
  3. Enter camera information.
  4. Select Add Station to specify who will have access to the camera.
  5. Enter station information, then choose OK. If you want to grant access to other stations, repeat this step. To remove a station, click on its row and then select Delete Station.
  6. Choose Set Up Camera to initialize the camera. The system informs you whether the initialization was successful. For more information, see Possible Messages (Setting Camera Options).
  7. To save your changes, choose Done. If you changed the number of stations for a camera, the system adjusts the Station Count column. If you want to discard your changes, choose Cancel. The system returns you to the Camera Options screen. To add another camera to your system, repeat this procedure.

Editing Camera Settings

If you want to change a camera's parameters or change the users that can access a camera, edit the camera's settings. To edit the settings for a camera:

  1. Select Admin | Camera Options to access the Camera Options table.
  2. Click on the camera's row and then choose Edit.
  3. Modify the data elements.
  4. To add a station, choose Add Station and enter station information. To remove a station, click on its row and then select Delete Station.
  5. To save your changes, choose OK. If you changed the number of stations for a camera, the system adjusts the Station Count column. If you do not want to save your changes, choose the Cancel button. The system returns you to the Camera Options screen. Repeat these steps if you want to edit the settings for another camera.

Deleting a Camera

If you no longer want to use a camera, you can delete it from the Camera Options table. To remove a camera's settings:

  1. Select Admin | Camera Options to access the Camera Options table.
  2. Click on the camera's row and then choose Delete. The system removes these settings. To exit from the Camera Options function, choose Done.
