Publishing Programs

To modify program records, you must be assigned permission 754 (Update program records). See Permissions Used by Sierra for more information.

Patrons can view information in the WebPAC about the programs your library offers as soon as the program record is created. If your library wants to delay the program from appearing in the WebPAC, however, you can enter a publication date in the program. Although patrons cannot see programs that are not yet published, library staff logged into the WebPAC can see all programs (including unpublished and suppressed programs).

To set the date to publish a program:

  1. Choose Program Management from the Function list.
  2. Retrieve the program record you want to modify and open it for editing.
  3. In the PUBLISHDAT field, enter the date the system should add information about this program to the WebPAC.
    Unpublish Dates

You can also set an unpublish date for a program, which directs the system to remove information about a program from the WebPAC on a specific date.

  4. Choose Save to save your program record information or Close to close the record without saving.
