Searching for Programs

Program Registration enables you to use a variety of criteria to search for programs.

To search for a program:

  1. Choose Program Management from the Function list.
  2. Choose an index from the drop-down list. Note that this list also displays the index tag for each index.
  3. Enter the search criteria in the text box.

Note that you do not need to enter the index tag. For example, enter the program name "story time" (not "Hstory time").

Searching by Record Number

If you use the . RECORD # index to search for a program or section, be sure to enter the record type before the record number. For example, if you are searching for a program with a record number of 10000252, enter "g10000252". If you are searching for a section with this record number, enter "s10000252".

  1. Choose the Search button. Program Registration displays the requests that match your search exactly. If no program entries match your search criteria, Program Registration does not display any results. For more information about search criteria, see the Advanced index search syntax guidelines.

Advanced index search syntax guidelines apply to both patrons searching for programs in the WebPAC and staff searching for programs with Sierra. For optimum search results, keep these search guidelines in mind when creating program names and descriptions.
