Viewing and Printing Auto Notices in Data Exchange

You can use Data Exchange to manage Auto Notices job files that are saved to a file save printer:

Configuring Your Login for Auto Notices in Data Exchange

Ensure your login is configured to use Data Exchange for Auto Notices:

  1. Use the Administration Application to ensure the FTS File Save printer is assigned to your login.
  2. In the user options for your login:
    1. Choose Data Exchange.
    2. Ensure Auto Notices File Manager (auton) is added to the Displayed Processes list.

Creating Auto Notices Print Job Files

To create an Auto Notices print job file:

  1. Choose Save.
  2. Choose the FTS File Save printer. Printing to FTS File Save sends the print job to a file.

Viewing and Managing Auto Notices Files

To view and manage Auto Notices files saved to the FTS File Save printer:

  1. Choose Data Exchange from the Function list.
  2. Choose Auto Notices File Manager (auton) from the Select Process drop-down menu. If Auto Notices files (.auton file format) and/or Auto Notices files using Print Templates (.html file format) exist, the system displays the files in the Data Exchange table.
  3. You can view, print, copy, rename, and delete the displayed files:
    • To view and/or print an Auto Notices file:
      1. Select the file to view and/or print.
      2. Choose the View icon or Tools | View a file. The system displays the contents of the file.
      3. To print the Auto Notices file, choose the Print icon or File | Print.
    • To copy one or more Auto Notices files:
      1. Select the file(s) to copy.
      2. Choose the Copy icon or Tools | Copy a File.
      3. In the Copy a File dialog box, enter a name for the new file and choose OK.
    • To rename an Auto Notices file:
      1. Select the file to rename.
      2. Choose Tools | Rename Files.
      3. In the Rename Files dialog box, enter the new name for the file and choose OK.
    • To delete one or more Auto Notices files:
      1. Select the file(s) to delete.
      2. Choose the Delete icon or Tools | Delete Files.

Saving Auto Notices

To save Auto Notices files to a computer:

  1. Choose Data Exchange from the Function list.
  2. Choose Auto Notices File Manager (auton) from the Select Process drop-down menu.
  3. Select the file you want to save.
  4. Save the file to another computer or save it to your own computer:
    • To save the file to another computer:
      1. Depending on the type of Auto Notices file you are saving, do one of the following:
        • If you are saving an Auto Notices (.auton) file, choose the Put FTS S icon or Tools | Put | SEND a print file to another system using FTS (.auton).
        • If you are saving an Auto Notices file that uses Print Templates (an .html file), choose the Put FTS H icon or Tools | Put | SEND a print file to another system using FTS (.html) The system displays the Transfer Files program.
      2. To transfer the Auto Notices files to another computer, use FTS to put the files to a remote source.
    • To save the file to your own computer:
      1. Choose the Put PC icon or Tools | Put | Download Files to PC. The system displays a Save dialog box.
      2. Save the file to your computer.
