Checking In an Item that Must Be Sent to the Owning Location
If you check in an item whose owning location requires that the item be sent home, the system displays the checkin and transit options for returning the item to its owning location. Choose the Set STATUS to in transit; do not check-in or the Set status to in TRANSIT; check-in option to return the item to its owning location. The system does not fill any holds on the item until it is checked in at its owning location.
Compatibility with Floating Collections
The Sending Items Home feature overrides the Floating Collections product. If an item must be sent home, the system ignores the setting of the Float Determiner table.
