Check-out: Authorization required to override patron block
If this circulation option is set to "YES," only users with permission 98 are permitted to override the following blocks:
- Checking out an item to or placing a hold for a blocked patron.
- Checking out or placing a hold on a non-circulating item (that is, the Code element of the loan rule is set to 'N').
- Checking out or placing a hold on an item with a STATUS of 'o' (LIB USE ONLY).
- Placing a hold on a non-holdable item (that is, the Holdable element of the loan rule is set to 'N').
If this circulation option is set to"NO," all users are permitted to override the above blocks.

Automatic vs. Manual Patron Blocks
The Check-out: Authorization required to override patron block circulation option applies only to patrons who are automatically blocked because of a setting in the Patron Blocks table. Use the circulation option Check-out: Authorization required to override manual block to authorize users to check out or place holds for manually blocked patrons (that is, patrons with an MBLOCK value other than '-').
