RFID Pad Server Options Table
If your library has acquired Item Status API, you can use the RFID Pad Server Options table to specify which of your library's circulation and Express Lane workstations are RFID-enabled. Each entry in the RFID Pad Server Options table represents a single RFID-enabled workstation.
You can access the RFID Pad Server Options table via the following menu path:
For information on modifying this table, see Administering RFID Pad Server Options.
Entries in the RFID Pad Server Options table contain the following data elements:

Local IP Address | The IP address or host name of the workstation. Ranges and wildcards are not supported. |
Server IP Address | The IP address of the workstation on which the RFID pad server software is installed. See the Network Requirements section below for information on the differences between the Sierra Desktop Application and Sierra Web. |
Port Number | The port number used to access the RFID server. Your RFID vendor can help you determine the port number to specify. |
HTTP Context |

Timeout | The number of seconds the system waits after attempting to connect to the RFID server before timing out and displaying a message that the RFID server is not responding. |
Interval | The number of seconds between each of the system's attempts to connect to the RFID server. |

Network Requirements
The network requirements for the Sierra Desktop Application and Sierra Web differ slightly.
- Sierra Desktop Application
- Connections to the Server IP Address on the specified Port Number must be open from the local PC. The RFID server can be on the same machine as the RFID station only if the RFID station is a Windows PC.
- Sierra Web
- Connections to the Server IP Address on the specified Port Number must be open from the Sierra app server.
