Editing or Adding MARC LIB HAS Fields

  1. Select the holdings range in the OPAC View box.
  2. To add a holdings range at the end of the existing holdings data, choose Add New Range.
  3. To add a holdings range before the range you selected in the first step, choose Tools | Range Menu | Insert Range before Selected.
  4. If the checkin record has more than one holdings pattern defined, choose which pattern to use for the new range in the resulting dialog box.
  5. In the Selected Range area of the tab, select or clear the Gap break separator check box.

Select the Gap break separator check box to put a comma after the range. A comma indicates a gap in a range of holdings. The issue was published but it is not held by the library. A subfield |w with a value of 'g' is added to the checkin record.

Clear the Gap break separator check box to put a semicolon after the new or edited holdings range. A semicolon indicates that there is a non-gap break in the holdings. For example, the library does not hold the issue because it was never published. A subfield |w with a value of 'n' is added to the checkin record.

  1. In the From boxes, enter the enumeration level values and the cover date for the first issue in the range.
  2. To leave the range open, e.g., "v.6:no.1(1990)-", choose the Open-ended check box. Otherwise, enter the enumeration level values and the cover date for the last issue in the range in the To boxes.
  3. (Optional) Enter a
    • public note in the Note box.
    • note for staff use in the Nonpublic Note.

The Nonpublic Note displays only in the Holdings tab.

  1. To update the LIB HAS field and WebPAC displays with your changes, choose Apply Changes. To display the original values as they appeared prior to your changes, choose Reset. Note that you cannot reset the values after choosing the Apply Changes button.
