Cancelling Registrations

To cancel registration or waitlist status, you must be assigned permission 770 (Registration management). See Permissions Used by Sierra for more information.

You can cancel patron registrations from the:

Registration Cancellations when Patrons Are Waitlisted

If a patron cancels a registration (either via the WebPAC or through a staff member using Sierra) for a section for which patrons are on the waitlist and automatic transfer is not enabled, Program Registration disables further additions to the registration list. (If the waitlist is full, the system does not allow additions to either the registration list or the waitlist.) To fill the registration list (and free the waitlist, if necessary), site staff must manually transfer a patron to the registration list.

Cancelling Registrations from the Patron Record

To cancel a patron's registration from the patron's record:

  1. Choose Program Management from the Function list.
  2. Retrieve the patron record. The system displays the patron record and the list of sections for which the patron is registered or waitlisted.
  3. Select the section for which the patron wants to cancel registration or waitlist status.
  4. Choose the Cancel button.

The system cancels the patron's registration or waitlist status and removes the section entry from the patron's list. The system sends a cancellation email to both the patron and the program operator.

Cancelling Registrations from the Program Record

To cancel a patron's registration from the program record:

  1. Choose Program Management from the Function list.
  2. Retrieve the section record for which the patron is currently registered or waitlisted.
  3. Locate the patron's entry on either the Register tab or the Waitlist tab and select the patron's entry. The system enables the Cancel button.
  4. Choose the Cancel button.

The system cancels the patron's registration or waitlist status and removes the patron's entry from the attendance list or waitlist. The system sends a cancellation email to both the patron and the program operator.
