Linking Contacts to Resources

To view contact records, you must be assigned permission 231 (View Contact Records). See Permissions Used by Sierra for more information.

Enter a value in one of these resource record fields to link a resource and contact record:

ACCESS PROVIDER
PUBLISHER
COPYRIGHT HOLDER
DATA PROVIDER
CONSORTIUM

When you enter a value in one of these fields of the resource record, it is validated against the CONTACT CODE fields of existing contact records. The contact record with the CONTACT CODE value that matches the resource record validated field's value is linked to the resource record.

Contact records linked to the resource record display in the resource record's Contacts tab.

The resource record field that contains the contact record's CONTACT CODE is indicated in the Role column of the Contacts tab. If the same CONTACT CODE appears in more than one field of the resource record, the contact is displayed on multiple rows with a different value in the Role column.
