Check In with Circa Wireless Assistant (RFID)

To use Check In from a wireless device, you must be assigned permission 254 (Circa Checkin). To backdate an item's checkin date, you must be assigned permission 096 (Override check-in date). See Permissions Used by Sierra for more information.

The Check In function for the Circa Wireless Assistant (RFID) product enables you to use RFID technology to check in items. Depending on the results of the checkin process, Circa enables you to edit some or all of the following fields for each item:

To check items in with Circa Wireless Assistant (RFID):

  1. Access Circa's Check In application. Circa displays the Check In process items screen. For example:

To backdate the item's checkin date, choose Backdate.

  1. Use your RFID wand to scan items. You can process as many items as your RFID technology allows.
  2. Choose Process Items. Circa displays the result summary screen.
Floating Collection Items

If an item could belong to the current location (e.g., the item is part of a floating collection), the system will check in the item.

  1. To process more items, choose New File from the result summary screen and use your RFID wand to scan a new set of items.
  2. To exit the function or your Circa session, see Exiting Circa.
