Matching Records on the Local Record Number
As the first step in record matching, the INN-Reach Central Server always attempts to match incoming and existing records on record number. To do so, the system determines if there is an entry for the incoming record's record number in the 'z' index.
If the system finds the record number in the 'z' index, the system compares the Primary Match Field and the Title field in the incoming and existing records.
- If these fields do not match, a match between the records is no longer appropriate. The system splits the incoming record from the master record to which it was previously matched.
- If these fields match, the system proceeds to determining which is the master record.
If the system does not find a record number in the 'z' index, the system proceeds to matching on the Primary Match Field.
