Repeating ARTEmail Requests
If ARTEmail has problems receiving the ARTEmail file, you might be asked to repeat the requests included in that file. When you repeat ARTEmail requests, ILL re-sends all of the messages in the ARTEmail file that do not contain the code CANCEL or CHASER in their transaction line.
To repeat ARTEmail requests:
- Choose ARTEmail Requests from the Function list. ILL displays the ARTEmail files that it has archived. For example:
# | Voucher Number | Original Send Date |
---|---|---|
1 | ab12345 - ab12355 | 09-25-2003 4:48PM |
2 | ab12356 - ab12366 | 09-26-2003 3:50PM |
- Select the file you want to resend.
- Choose the Resend ARTEmail icon. The system:
- Examines every message in the file you selected.
- For every message that does not contain the code CANCEL or CHASER in its transaction line, copies the message and adds the code REPEAT to its transaction line.
- Writes all of the messages it copies to a new ARTEmail file.
- Sends the new file to ARTEmail.
- Replaces the original file's Original Send Date display value with the text "ARTEmail resent".
- Updates the original file's Original Send Date value to the date and time the file was sent. (This value displays the next time you view the archived ARTEmail files.)
To view the messages in an ARTEmail file, select the file you want to view and choose the View ARTEmail icon. ILL displays every message in the file, including those that cannot be repeated.
