Sending Cancellation Messages to ARTEmail

When you cancel a pending ARTEmail request, you can choose to send a cancellation message to ARTEmail. If you do so, the following additional actions are needed after you choose yes and Next:

  1. Enter your library's customer code and password. Innovative can configure the system so that ILL automatically enters this information. To request that the Automatic ARTEmail login feature be enabled, contact Innovative.
  2. Choose Next.
  3. Specify the following information:
    Search Type
    Enter the code CANCEL to ask ARTEmail to cancel the request. Initially, this field displays the search type and instructions you entered when you acquired the request. (If you include the COPYRT code, ILL inserts an RZ code between the TX code and the transaction number in the transaction line.)
    Retain RZ Code
    Choose the yes radio button to include the RZ code in the request information. (ILL offers this option only if the original search instructions included the COPYRT code.)
    Enter Message
    Specify the cancellation reason. ILL inserts this text below the transaction line in the message to ARTEmail.
Voucher Number

The request information display includes the Voucher Number element, which contains the voucher number you entered when you acquired this request. You cannot edit this data.

  1. Choose Next. ILL displays the cancellation information you specified.
  2. Choose Next to confirm that the information is correct, or choose Previous to edit the information as necessary.
  3. Return to standard steps for cancelling a pending request. When you complete the cancellation, ILL appends the cancellation message to the ARTEmail file.
  4. Send the cancellation message to ARTemail by doing one of the following:
    • Choose Admin | Send ARTEmail Requests.
    • End the current session.
    When you perform either of the above actions, ILL emails all the messages in the ARTEmail file to ARTEmail, including the cancellation message you generated.
