Undoing a Global Update

There is no undo option in Global Update. If you process the list of commands, records are altered. If you process a list of commands by mistake, you must design a new Global Update to restore the records to their original state.

If you process a list of commands by mistake:

1. Print a report of the changes from the Statistics tab. Use the report as a reference for the steps that follow.
2. Select the records that were altered by mistake.
3. Create a list of commands that restore the records to their original state. For example, if you inserted a variable-length field by mistake, create a command to delete the variable-length field.
4. Process the list of commands.
