Using Polaris Menus
Note:
Course Reserves, Feature It (Promotions), Community Profiles, EContent Integration, and certain other products each require a separate license. If these products are not licensed, the records associated with the products do not appear in menus, Find Tool Objects lists, or New Record lists. If these products are licensed, the associated records are listed as selections in menus and lists. See View Polaris Licenses Available to Your Library.
The Polaris Shortcut Bar contains the following menus:

When you select a record type from a subsystem menu, the Polaris Find Tool appears. See Finding Polaris Records.
- File - Select options from the File menu to create a record, log off or exit.
- Acquisitions - Select options from the Acquisitions menu to do Acquisitions tasks. See Polaris Acquisitions Overview.
- Serials - Select options from the Serials menu to do serials tasks. See Polaris Serials Overview.
- Cataloging - Select options from the Cataloging menu to do cataloging tasks. See Polaris Cataloging Topics.
- Patron Services - Select options from the Patron Services menu do patron services tasks. See Polaris Patron Services Overview.
- Circulation - Select options from the Circulation menu to do circulation tasks. See Polaris Patron Services Overview.
- Administration - Select options from the Administration menu to do administration tasks. See Polaris Administration Overview.
- Utilities - Select options from the Utilities menu to do certain tasks:

- Importing - This menu option opens a submenu:
- Express Import - See Use Express Import to Import Records.
- Full Import - See Use Full Import to Import Records .
- Import Jobs Queue - See Using the Import Jobs Queue.
- Profile Manager - See Setting Up Import Profiles.
- Events Profile Manager - See Importing Events for Community Profiles.
- Exporting - Select this option to open the Polaris Export Utility.
- Cataloging Processing - This menu option has a sub-menu with the following options:
- Purge Cataloging Records - See Purge cataloging records.
- Bibliographic Bulk Change Queue - See Using Cataloging Record Sets.
- Authority Create Links Queue - See View and Print Logs for New or Updated Authority Links.
- Authority Update Links Queue - See View and Print Logs for New or Updated Authority Links.
- Create Unlinked Bibliographic Record - See Using Cataloging Record Sets.
- Create Unlinked Authority Record Set - See Using Cataloging Record Sets.
- Quick-Circ Item Records - Select this option to go to a list of quick circ items. See Circulating Ephemeral Items.
- Acquisitions Processing - This menu option has a sub-menu with the following options:

- Purge purchase orders and invoices - See Purge Purchase Orders and Invoices.

- Update currency exchange rate - See Administering Foreign Currencies

- Mailing Label Manager - See Creating Patron Mailing Labels.
- Credit Card Payment Manager - See Managing Credit Card Orders.
- URL Detective - Opens the URL Detective.
- Web Browser - Opens a web browser if your library has specified one.
- Carousel Toolkit - Opens the Carousel Toolkit dialog box. See Generate and copy the code for a record set or dashboard element.
- Help - From the Help menu, you can access online Help as well as information about the Polaris version and the Polaris licenses your library has. See Using Online Help.
