SMS Alerts Automatic Text Messages

SMS Alerts sends text messages to patrons, and also enables text messages from patrons, under certain circumstances.

U.S. Libraries

SMS Alerts sends text messages to patrons in the U.S. as follows:

SMS Alerts enables patrons in the U.S. to send the following text messages from the opted-in mobile phone to the SMS server (using the SMS server's shortcode number):

Confirm that the patron wants to opt in a mobile phone number	YES
Receive help with SMS Alerts	HELP
Renew items	RENEW RENEW ALL
Opt out a mobile phone number	STOP STOP ALL END QUIT CANCEL UNSUBSCRIBE

Non-U.S. Libraries

SMS Alerts sends the following text message to patrons outside the U.S.:

Reason for Message	Message Text
Opt-in confirmation	Congrats! U subscribed to SMS Library Alerts. Unlimited monthly standard rate messages. Standard message rates apply.

SMS Alerts does not enable patrons to send text messages to libraries outside the U.S.
