Viewing Hourly Circulation Reports
The Hourly Circulation reports display the number of items checked out during a specific month, and are grouped by statistics group. You can view this data as items checked out per hour or the number of patrons who have checked out items each hour.
If your library chooses to combine check-outs and renewals into the check-outs column of the All Activity report, the Hourly Circulation report displays the combined number of items checked-out and items renewed as the number of items checked-out.
To view the Hourly report:
- Choose Circ Activity from the reports menu.
- Choose Hourly from the reports menu, and then choose Submit.
- Choose one of the following under the Total section of the reports menu:
- Items — Displays the total number of items per hour by date and totals for each day of the week.
- Patrons — Displays the total number of patrons who checked out items for each hour by date and totals for each day of the week. Note that for the daily patron totals reported in the TOTAL column, the report counts a patron one time for each hour during which the patron checks out materials. For example, if a patron checks out two items at 3:55 P.M. and checks out no additional items before or after this on the same date, the patron is counted one time in the TOTAL column for that date. If a patron checks out one item at 3:55 P.M., and one more item at 4:05 P.M., and no additional items before or after these two checkouts on the same date, the patron is counted two times in the TOTAL column for that date.
- To select the month for which you want data, choose the radio button to the left of the month, for example "Jun02".
- Click Submit Query.
- To view the most recent data, choose Recalculate.
The report shows checkout activity by hour for each day in the selected month for a statistics group. Each statistics group has an individual report page. You can page through all statistics groups included in the report using the Up/Down option on the toolbar. The last column (TOTAL) shows the total number of checkouts made for that statistics group for all hours of that day. Totals for each day of the week appear in the lower portion of the report. You can use the browser scroll bar to view a long report.
Number Rounding
Numbers greater than 1000 appear with a 'K' suffix (kilo); digits in the tens and ones places are rounded. For example, the report displays a total of 1,231 as "1.2K", discarding the "31" at the end.
