Paying Fees and Fines in Ecommerce with Hosted Checkout Pages
Patrons can pay fees and fines by clicking the View Fines link on the patron record display. A Pay Online link appears if the following are true:
- SSL is enabled for the WebPAC.
- The total fees and fines are greater than the minimum amount defined in the PAYAMTS Web option.
- The patron record is not open in the Sierra Desktop Application or Express Lane. If it is open, the following message appears: "Online fine payments cannot be processed. Please try again later."
To pay fees and fines using Ecommerce with Hosted Checkout Pages:
- Click Pay Online from the patron record display. The system displays the payment form (payform.html).
- Using the check boxes and Select All and Clear All links, select the fees and fines to pay, and click Continue.
The ICON_PAY_CONTINUE Web option controls the appearance of the Continue link.
WebPAC forwards the user to the appropriate page on Paypal's system for the user to complete the transaction. If you have defined the ECOM_LINK_SEND_PERSONAL Web option, the system populates the payment form with the specified patron data.
Paypal generates any necessary receipts and email notifications for the user. Your library can use the ECOM_LINK_FINES_DONE Web option to define a message to display after a successful payment.
