Daily Link Maintenance

To use this feature, your library must be set up for Daily Link Maintenance to maintain record links automatically at a regularly scheduled time. Contact Innovative to set up this feature.

If your library has acquired Link Maintenance, the ability to maintain links between bibliographic records and their attached records, you can:

For more information on this functionality, see Maintaining Record Links.

If your system is set up to maintain record links automatically, it generates a Link Maintenance Report. This report displays the following information:

Start time Start time of Link Maintenance.
<#>Records examined Total number of records processed by Link Maintenance. Note that this number might differ from the value in the Admin Corner SYSTEM STATUS window, which indicates "There are <nnnnn> records awaiting link maintenance." The value in the SYSTEM STATUS window reports the number of entries in the Daily Link Maintenance file, which tracks records that need to be examined. The Link Maintenance Report, however, removes any duplicates and processes each record only once, even if it appears multiple times in the Daily Link Maintenance file.
<#>Bibliographic records updated for locations Total number of bibliographic records for which the location was updated.
<#>Bibliographic records updated for sequencing Total number of bibliographic records for which the item record sequence was updated.
End time End time of Link Maintenance.

  3. To print the contents of the report, choose Printable View. You also can select and copy portions of the report to paste as text in another document.
  4. To clear the contents of the report, choose Clear File.

You must be assigned permission 271 (Clear record links maintenance log) to clear the report contents.
