Importing Usage Statistics Manually

To access user statistics for online resources, you must be assigned permission 214 (Update Resource records). See Permissions Used by Sierra for more information.

To import ERM usage statistics manually:

  1. Manually download usage statistics from the resource provider. Typically, these manual downloads contain usage statistics for titles in a single resource and are done through a resource provider's web site. Contact the resource provider for specific instructions.

The resource provider must provide the usage statistics data as XML formatted according to the COUNTER (Counting Online Usage of NeTworked Electronic Resources) DTD for the following report types: JR1 (Journal Report 1), DB1 (Database Report 1), BR1 (Book Report 1) and BR2 (Book Report 2).

  2. Choose Catalog ERM from the Function list.
  3. Retrieve the resource record for which you want to import the statistics.
  4. Choose the User Statistics tab.
  5. Choose Import.
  6. In the Open dialog box, navigate to the directory where the XML file containing the downloaded statistics is stored.
  7. Choose the XML file.
  8. Choose Open.
