Deleting an INN-Reach Catalog Record
When you delete a record in your local catalog, the Local Server sends an update to the INN-Reach Catalog. On receiving the update, the INN-Reach Central Server performs one of the following actions:
- If the contributing site deletes an item, order, or checkin record, the INN-Reach Central Server deletes the Item, Order, or Checkin field from the corresponding institution record in the INN-Reach Catalog.
- If the contributing site deletes a bibliographic record or modifies its contribution code so that it is no longer contributed to the INN-Reach Catalog, the INN-Reach Central Server does one of the following, depending on whether the contributing site owns the master record in the INN-Reach Catalog:
- If the contributing site does not own the master record, the INN-Reach Central Server deletes the site's LOCAL PAC field from the master bibliographic record.
- If the contributing site owns the master record and is the only site to contribute records to that master record, the INN-Reach Central Server deletes the master bibliographic record.
- If the contributing site owns the master record but records contributed by other sites are linked to that master record, the INN-Reach Central Server identifies one of the records contributed by other sites as the new master record, and attaches the other sites' records to that new master record.
