Setting Up the ARTEmail Voucher Number Format
The ARTEmail voucher number uniquely identifies a request for an ILL item through ARTEmail. You assign this identifier to the request when you acquire or reacquire requested items.
ILL can use the following voucher number formats:
To change the voucher format ILL uses, contact Innovative.
Default Format
By default, the ARTEmail voucher number is formatted as two letters and five digits as follows:
1 2
<library code><transaction number>
# | Element | Description |
---|---|---|
1. | Library code | Your two-letter ARTEmail library code. If your library does not have a library code, contact ARTTel.) |
2. | Transaction number | A number representing the total number of ARTEmail requests your library has sent, plus one. |
For example, if you enter "ab00001" for your first request, ILL creates the voucher number "ab00001."
For the remainder of the session, ILL automatically increments the voucher number (e.g., the voucher number for the next request is ab00002). If you are acquiring multiple requests, ILL increments the voucher number for each request.
Alternative Formats
Innovative can configure ILL to accept voucher numbers in the following alternative formats:
- A three-letter five-digit format (for example, "abc00001").
- Any twelve-character string. If you choose this format, ILL is unable to increment the voucher number and cannot be used to acquire multiple requests simultaneously.
