Editing the ARTEmail / BLDSS Prompt Mapping File

If your library uses the British Library's ARTEmail document delivery system or BLDSS for ILL requests, Innovative enables and configures a mapping file on your system by default. Once configured, this file maps your library's ILL prompts to conform to the British Library's required format for requests.

To view and edit the mapping file that enables this functionality:

  1. In Data Exchange, select Process Load ARTEmail mapping from the dropdown list.
  2. Click Put PC to send the file to a local directory on your PC.
  3. In your local directory, edit the artemail.mapping file as desired, ensuring that each line in the file corresponds to a specific element in your library's ILL prompts.

Note that the file must contain the following elements:

      BOOK_TITLE=
      BOOK_AUTHOR=
      BOOK_PUBLISHER=
      BOOK_YEAR=
      BOOK_VOLUME=
      BOOK_PART=
      BOOK_EDITION=
      BOOK_ISBN=
      JOURNAL_TITLE=

  4. Save the updated file in your local directory.
  5. In Data Exchange, select Process Load ARTEmail mapping from the dropdown list.
  6. Click Get PC. In the resulting Upload window, select the updated artemail.mapping file that is currently stored in your local directory, and click Upload.

Once this file is successfully uploaded, the system automatically maps the requested bibliographic information to the British Library's required format each time you enter an ILL request via ARTEmail or BLDSS.
