Non-unique 4XX Headings Reports

Authority Control

Your library must use Automatic Authority Control Processing to access this report.

The Non-unique 4XX report supplies information on bibliographic headings that could not be changed by Automatic Authority Control Processing because the headings matched two or more 4XX fields (SEE FROM headings) in authority records.

When Automatic Authority Control Processing updates an invalid heading on a bibliographic record, the system checks for duplicate authority 4XX fields in the database. When duplicate 4XX fields are found, the system cannot determine which authority record is appropriate for updating the invalid bibliographic record. In this case, the system records the invalid bibliographic record heading as well as the record numbers for the authority records that contain the duplicate 4XX fields in this headings report.
