Read patron Requests
The Read patron REQUESTS option in the Admin Corner allows you to process patron requests manually.
Choosing Which Requests to Read
You can review all requests or just requests made from a particular location or group of locations:
Read Requests Made by OPAC Users 1 > Read all requests 2 > Read requests only for a certain location 3 > Read requests for North Campus Q > QUIT Choose one (1,2,3,Q)
Option 1 > Read all requests
Allows you to view and process the patron requests for all locations in the system.
Option 2 > Read requests only for a certain location
Allows you to view and process the patron requests for specified locations in the system.
The system asks you to specify the pickup location of the requests you wish to view:
Read requests only for location ____
Option 3 > Read requests for <location group>
Allows you to view and process the requests for just the locations specified by the Locations Served table entry for your current terminal or login (i.e. statistics group).
Reviewing Requests
After you have chosen the patron requests to process, the system displays the number of requests to review and offers you the following options:
Read Requests Made by Users 73 requests to review
Read requests for all locations ------------------------------- P > PRINT request file D > DISPLAY records in file R > Remove all 73 requests Q > QUIT Choose one (P,D,R,Q)
P > PRINT request file
Prints the requests in the format shown in the display. The system asks you to select a printer, if more than one is available, and prints the list.
R > REMOVE all <number> requests
Removes all of the patron requests from the system. The system asks you to confirm your decision.
Q > QUIT
QUIT returns you to the R > Read patron REQUESTS menu.
D > DISPLAY records in file
The system asks you which request (record) in the file you want to start with:
Start at which record ? (1-73) __
Specify the number of the request with which you want to begin. The request displays and the following options are available:

Forward and Back Menu Options
If you used the Circulation option Holds: Additional patron fields to show in requests to include additional variable-length fields from the patron record, the system may offer the F > Forward menu option, allowing you to scroll forward to see additional information on the next screen. Once you scroll forward, the F > Forward menu option is replaced by the B > Back menu option, allowing you to return to the beginning of the patron request.
N > NEXT Record
View the next request.
C > CANCEL request
Remove the request from the requests file.
P > PRINT Record
Print the request.
Q > QUIT
Quit from viewing requests. If you have cancelled requests or placed holds on request, the system will ask you if you wish to remove them from the file, e.g.,:
Remove 2 requests that had holds placed or were cancelled? (y/n)
If your the system has been set up to accept only verified requests (i.e., only requests from patrons who are registered with the library), you are presented with two additional options:
H > Place HOLD
Puts a hold on the item for this patron. If there are any reasons that the patron cannot place a hold on the item, the hold will be refused, and the system displays a message, e.g.,
Patron already has item checked out
Print paging slip? (y/n)
D > DISPLAY patron record
Displays the patron record in view-only mode.
