Create a segment by using the segment builder

You can use the segment builder to create a segment. A segment is a group of people who share common interests.

Important

You must choose whether to use the double opt-in feature before you create your first segment because Promote permanently saves the setting when you create your first segment. You can’t change it later. For more information, see Configure double opt-in.

To create a segment

  1. On the Audience page, select the Segments tab.
  2. Select Add Segment.

    3. The Unnamed Segment page opens.

  3. Enter a name for the segment.
  4. Define the segment criteria.
    1. Select from the following matching criteria:
      • All
      • Any
    2. Select one or more tags to define the segment criteria.
  5. Select Save Segment.
