Configure double opt-in
The double opt-in feature requires people to respond to an opt-in email to subscribe to your email marketing.
Important
You must choose whether to use the double opt-in feature before you create your first segment because Promote permanently saves the setting when you create your first segment. You can’t change it later.
The default setting is On. If you don’t want to use this feature, turn it off before you create your first segment.
With the double opt-in feature enabled, you can only add contacts to a segment if their subscription status is Subscribed. If you try to add contacts whose subscription status is Not Subscribed, Promote sends them an opt-in email.
Promote doesn’t allow you to add contacts to a segment if their subscription status is Unsubscribed. Contacts who want to subscribe must submit a sign-up form and respond to the opt-in email.
You can either display a confirmation message after a person completes the sign-up form, or you can display a webpage.
